Beyoncé. Kim Kardashian. Michelle Obama.
Each of these women has been spotted in African prints over the years, but one needn’t be a celebrity to try these looks or to reserve them for special occasions. With Grace & Moore, you can wear African inspired attire to the office, or on a girls night out with friends. Launched in February 2020, this Southern California brand features African apparel—from dresses, skirts, tops to wrap hat – designed for the workplace and other upscale settings.
Akon Anyiam, a Nigerian American of Efik heritage, started Grace & Moore after working in corporate America for nearly 20 years. She knows firsthand what it’s like to want to maintain a professional image while expressing pride in one’s ethnic background. That said, Grace & Moore is for all women who find beauty in African prints and want to showcase them during the workday.
Thanks to films such as “Black Panther” and musical festivals such as AfroPunk, interest in African clothing has grown in the U.S. in recent years. So, why not wear them all the time— whether you’re going to work, having a lunch meeting, or attending an event at your child’s school? You can even mix and match the pieces in the line to create a more versatile look.
Africa has long influenced fashion trends, but the Grace & Moore collection isn’t made up of fads. The clothes in this line include a range of prints, cuts, and styles that make terrific wardrobe staples.
